The Michelin Guide & The Michelin Key are NOW Here in NZ

It began in France in 1900 as a little red guide for motorists, before evolving into the worlds most recognised restaurant guide and now it is here in New Zealand and we are loving it!

MICHELIN brings another level of international recognition of our hotels, chefs, restaurants, growers, producers and the incredible ingredients that come from this part of the world.

At Walkington, food has always been part of our journey, and we’re lucky to work with, and recommend some fabulous restaurants in Wellington and around New Zealand, because as you know, we just love the reward of a beautiful dinner after a day on the trails!

Please note though that the Michelin Guide only covered restaurants in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown. So while this is hugely exciting, we will continue to take our guests beyond the guide, because some of New Zealand’s most memorable tables can be found in our smaller towns, wine regions and beautiful out of the way spaces.

Much like Michelin Stars for dining, the Michelin Key awards one, two or three keys to hotels that deliver exceptional architecture, design, service, and local character. New Zealand now has 10 Two Key properties, amongst the 28 properties recognised across New Zealand.

We are very much looking forward to adding these world class destinations to our holidays and getaways!
