Te Ara Tupua: What a Success Story!
What a fabulous addition to Wellington!
A few weeks after first opening, this coastal trail connecting Wellington with Petone is an absolute joy, and one that the whole of the city is raving about.
There are now so many more opportunities for moving across the capital and beyond, whether on foot or on wheels!
This new section from Ngauranga Gorge to Petone will connect walkers, bikers and runners from Wellington all the way around the harbour to Petone, Eastbourne, and beyond.
How about:-
Cycling to Petone for some quirky Jackson St shopping & lunch
Morning run out to Petone and back to the city – race the trains!
Stop for a swim along the Petone foreshore – enjoy some of the best city views
Cycle around to Eastbourne and hop on the East by West Ferry back into the city
Carry on biking up to the start of the Remutaka Incline, or even out to the Martinborough vinyards – it is a big one, but easily doable for the superfit or the e-biker!
Bike out to the Hutt and pick up the shuttle for your white water rafting river experience
Cycle out past Wainuiomata and to the beautiful remote coastline with a return taxi ride home
This trail also connects you to the wider Ngā Haerenga Great Rides network
Let Walkington help you make the best of your time in Wellington – we can organise your bike hire, restaurant bookings, transport, vineyard lunches, hotel accommodation and anything else to make your day out on the trails spectacularly awesome!
